Look for MBBS plus MD/DNB (Psychiatry). 'Psychiatric counselling' delivered by a psychologist is a different service and cannot include a prescription.

Telemedicine prescriptions are legal in India under the 2020 Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, but certain controlled medications can't be prescribed remotely. Ask which category yours falls into.

Psychiatric medication needs review, especially in the first three months. Find out whether follow-ups are included, discounted or charged at full rate.

Ask what happens in a crisis or if you have a bad reaction to a medication. A platform that can't answer this clearly isn't ready to prescribe to you.
