Online & Offline#14 on OTI score

The Alternative Story Review

Short answer

The Alternative Story is worth considering if you want therapy that takes your wider circumstances seriously. Its queer-affirmative approach considers identity and social context, with private counselling and group support available. Subsidised and free individual places can make therapy more affordable. Those places are limited each month, so the lowest advertised price is not available with every therapist or appointment.

FAQ

The Alternative Story FAQ

Answers to common booking and comparison questions. Need a correction? Ask us directly.

Is pay-what-you-want a discount for everyone?
It is an access scheme for socioeconomically marginalised clients, with a ₹700 minimum and limited monthly places. Choose the new-client concession option when booking. A therapist’s absence from that option means their concession slots are full.
Can I change therapist?
Yes. The practice says it will help arrange another therapist when the fit is not right.
Are family sessions the same price as individual sessions?
No. Standard fees are ₹1,999 for individual counselling and ₹2,499 for conjoint or family counselling.
